About FYT

About FYT

FYT is building a simpler, fairer way to measure fitness.

At the core of FYT is the Universal Fitness Test—a standardized, equipment-free assessment that measures real-world functional fitness anywhere, for anyone. Results are translated into a single number, the FYT Score, giving you a clear baseline and a way to track progress over time—on your own or alongside others.

How it works

How your FYT Score works — fair, simple, and comparable.

Your number

A single score from 0 to 1000

Your FYT Score shows where your fitness stands today using one simple number.

Exercises

Three movements.

Three dimensions.

Push-ups measure upper-body strength, air squats measure lower-body strength, and burpees measure cardio conditioning.

Technology

AI counts your reps

Your phone camera tracks your movement with pose-detection AI. Only clean reps that meet form rules count.

THE EVIDENCE

Built on percentiles, not raw reps

The standards draw on established sports science: push-up norms from the American College of Sports Medicine and the Mayo Clinic, lower-body capacity informed by the 30-second chair-stand test, and cardio grounded in the 3-Minute Burpee Test validated across 9,833 adults — with age adjustments reflecting documented declines in muscular and anaerobic power.

THE MATH

500 means median

Your reps in each movement are scored against age- and sex-specific standards, converted to a percentile, and averaged across all three. The scale is anchored at the median: 500 means you're at the 50th percentile for people like you, and higher scores rank you progressively further ahead.

Global Rank

Global Rank

The FYT scoring engine is a living model. As our global dataset grows, adjustments are periodically made to ensure ranks accurately reflect elite functional performance across all demographics.

How is the FYT Score the Best Fitness Measurement System?

Most people don’t quit fitness because they’re lazy. They quit because they can’t tell if what they’re doing is working.

The FYT platform is currently starting with fitness measurement and expanding over time with tools designed to help people improve—without complexity or hype.
